In June 2018, British Airways hit the headlines when they informed customers that they wouldn’t be honouring discounted fares to Tel Aviv and Dubai – which they claimed had been priced incorrectly. On seeing the morning news, I thought we at Virgin Atlantic should jump on the story in a subtle, humorous way, and poke fun at them for their mistake. I emailed our PR team and had designed all digital ads, which were out on social media by the afternoon!
